CHEC Homeschool Park Days - Everyone’s Welcome

Filed under: Park Days — mikki @ 9:02 am

Our park days are open to everyone! You don’t have to be a member of CHEC to join in.

If your new to homeschooling and or new to the area - this is a great chance for you to meet other homeschoolers! Come join us!

SUMMER DAYS - BLUE SPRINGS - Orange City Park Days

Date: Wednesday June 3, 2009
Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Repeats: This event repeats every week.
Location: Blue Springs Park
Notes: We meet at the first parking lot -go into the woods by the volleyball court and behind the bathrooms. 10:00 to about 2:00 is the usual stay.

The cost per car is $5 (?). A family pass is about $80 and worth it if you go to a State Park more than 16 times in a year. You can arrange to meet a friend at Valentine and carpool in so saving some. Even if you don’t know anyone, come on out. You and your children will fit right in, so don’t let your children tell you -Ahhh, I don’t know anyone.

Bring: water, lunch, sunscreen, floaties, water shoes are quite helpful, any fun games to play

Swimsuits: CHEC has swimsuit guidelines. Boys of course in regular trunks. Girls/Women in one piece suits or a suit that covers like a one piece. Some sort of swim shorts on the young ladies. Modesty is the idea. If you do not have such a suit then put on some athletic shorts and a dark tank top over your regular suit and come on out. We have been swimming at Blue Springs for years and wearing a little more clothing has not prevented anyone from having a good time.

Hope to see you there. If you have any questions, call Sarah Brunnig 736-2076

CHEC Statement of Faith

Filed under: About CHEC — admin @ 10:30 pm

C.H.E.C. STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE… The Bible, both Old and New Testament, is inspired by God in every word, completely without error in the original writings, and is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God in eternity exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, except without sin.
(Genesis 1:26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 48:16; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Cor. 12:4-6; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 20-21; Luke 1:31-35; John 1:1-4; 10:28-30; Col. 1:13-17; 2:9; Heb. 1:8-9)

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin through the disobedience of Adam and is therefore lost and unable to justify himself before God. (Genesis 1:27; Gen. 3; Romans 3:10-12, 23; 5:12)

Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, acquired through personal faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners and who rose again for their justification. (1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 4:25; 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7)

The Holy Spirit produces a new life, and God has anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (John 14:26; 16:7-14; Titus 3:5; Rom.8:1-17; Eph. 1:13-14; 3:16-20; 4:30; Acts 1:8)

The blessed hope of the church of Jesus Christ is the reality of the imminent, personal return of her Lord and Savior. (Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)

Man’s eternal destiny is solely determined by his acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ, God’s provision for man’s sin. Those who accept Christ as their Savior will be resurrected to eternal life and joy in the presence of God, but those who reject Christ will be resurrected to judgment and separation from God for all eternity. (Daniel 12:2; Matt. 25:46; John 5:24-29; 1 Thess.4:13-18; Rev. 20:6; 21:1-8; Rom. 2:5, 8; Rev. 20:10-15

Where we meet

Filed under: About CHEC — admin @ 2:53 pm

We will be putting our focus on Homeschooling with Home Meetings.

No more LARGE meetings, but more personal, interest oriented home meetings geared towards gathering homeschoolers together in smaller settings where you can share, support, and encourage one another. Attending one meting doesn’t mean you are committed to that group. There will be a variety of groups/topics throughout the year which will give you the opportunity to meet other homeschoolers.

We have two meetings scheduled for September (location, times and more information will be announced at the August meeting and later on the Yahoo group)

Homeschooling Your High Schooler

Planning/Organizing Your Homeschool – for new comers and veterans alike –

There will be a sign up sheet at the August meeting for ideas and host homes.
